Omelet selected as an innovation partner for the 'High Value-Added Convergence Logistics Delivery Infrastructure Innovation Technology Development Research Project' led by the Korea Transport Institute

Shift is a program by LG Uplus aimed at advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technology by identifying and supporting promising university research lab startup teams and growth-oriented startups, helping them establish a foothold in the market.

In April 2023, Omelet, a faculty創業 (startup) company from KAIST, was officially established. Omelet was launched with the aim of applying fresh ideas born in the research lab to real-world industrial settings.

Selected for the 7th cohort of "O!VentUs (Open + Venture + Us)," Omelet has been conducting a Proof of Concept (PoC) for logistics systems with CJ Logistics, validating its OaaSIS solution with various companies. "It was a meaningful opportunity to work with CJ Logistics on solving significant real-world problems," the company stated. "For a startup, it was a valuable chance to prove that our technology could address critical challenges in actual industrial settings, beyond just the problems we set for ourselves. Through this collaboration on ‘delivery box size optimization recommendations,’ we not only secured an opportunity to supply our solution but also instilled confidence and pride in our team, reinforcing their belief that Omelet’s technology can make a significant industrial impact."

Omelet announced its participation in "SWITCH (Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology) 2024," which will be held in Singapore from October 28 (Monday) to October 30 (Wednesday). Omelet is developing an optimization AI Foundation model that combines generative AI and optimization techniques to quickly and accurately solve complex problems. The company is also working on a DecisionOps platform to make this technology easily accessible to businesses, enabling them to build, maintain, and manage AI-based decision-making models using their own data, according to the company. On the 17th, at the '2024 K-Deep Tech Startup Championship' held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, Omelet won the Excellence Award in the faculty startup category. Omelet, a startup developing 'OaaSIS,' an AI (artificial intelligence) foundation model that optimizes industrial problems, was recognized for its high AI performance and wide range of applications.

Hansol Group and Bluepoint Partners announced on the 30th that they have finalized the selection of six startup teams for the 5th cohort of their open innovation program, 'Hansol V Frontiers.' The selected teams are: 'Grineple' (producing pulp and eco-friendly materials from agricultural and food byproducts), 'CA' (developing and supplying recycling waste sorting robots based on vision AI technology), 'Arame Eco-Material Research Institute' (developing biodegradable nano-cellulose materials as plastic alternatives), 'Omelet' (solving business decision-making problems with generative AI), 'Team Robotics' (developing AI-based industrial mobile robot solutions), and 'Prediction' (diagnosing and treating used battery conditions with software).

CJ Group announced on the 27th that it has selected eight startup teams for the 7th cohort of its open innovation program, 'O!VentUs (Open + Venture + Us).' The selected startups include three in the 'Food & Bio' category (Dr. Diary, Needs, Pipe Tree Smart Farm), three in the 'Logistics' category (Omelet, Crossbeam, From D), and two in the 'Entertainment & Media' category (Ilmanbaekman, Simart). Six CJ affiliates—CJ CheilJedang, CJ Feed & Care, CJ Freshway, CJ Logistics (logistics/construction), CJ ENM, and CJ CGV—across seven divisions, are participating.
