LG Uplus Collaborates with Startups like Lemong and Omelet on AI
LG Uplus announced on the 15th that President Hong Beom-sik, in his first official activity since taking office, attended the 'Shift' Demo Day event, a startup discovery and nurturing program, and stated, "We aim to become the company that startups most want to work with."
Shift is a program by LG Uplus aimed at advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technology by identifying and supporting promising university research lab startup teams and growth-oriented startups, helping them establish a foothold in the market. At this event, President Hong emphasized the importance of technological cooperation in the AI field and highlighted the need for proactive discovery of companies with promising AI technologies to foster technological innovation and customer satisfaction. He said, "LG Uplus aims to be the company that works best with startups and the company that startups most want to work with. Shift is the starting point of this journey."
In this year's Shift program, 'Lemong', 'Omelet', 'Fairy', and 'Toggle Campus' were selected in the AI agent category, while 'SqueezeBits' and 'Technomatrix' were chosen in the software operation and development category. 'Trillion Labs' was named in the AI transformation (AX) model category, and 'Aim Intelligence' in the AI transformation base technology category.
The final selected startups will be provided with the application programming interface (API) and infrastructure of LG Uplus's generative AI model 'Exy', as well as opportunities for equity investment review through a dedicated fund.
