Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital and Omelet Join Hands on Medical AI: "From Nurse Scheduling to a Hospital Operations OS"

Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital (Yong-hoon Jung, President) and Omelet (Jinkyoo Park, CEO), a provider of AI optimization solutions for industry, have joined forces to drive digital transformation in healthcare.

On September 21, the two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital for the joint research and commercialization of medical AI solutions that improve the efficiency of nursing work and optimize hospital operations, launching a strategic partnership for healthcare operations optimization.
양사는 지난 9월 21일 중앙대학교광명병원에서 '의료 AI 기반 간호 업무 효율화 및 병원 운영 최적화 솔루션 공동 연구·사업화'를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 의료 운영 최적화를 위한 전략적 파트너십을 본격화한다고 밝혔다.
The agreement goes beyond introducing a new system. It is drawing attention as a model of shared growth, in which a hospital and a startup solve difficult problems in the field through joint research and bring the results to market.
이번 업무협약은 단순한 시스템 도입을 넘어, 병원과 스타트업이 공동 연구를 통해 의료 현장의 난제를 해결하고 이를 사업화하는 모범적인 상생 모델로 주목받고 있다.

The first step of this collaboration is a nurse scheduling AI agent. It takes on one of the heaviest administrative burdens in nursing: building the duty roster. A nurse schedule must account for a vast number of variables, including staffing by skill level, legally required rest periods, and each nurse's leave preferences. Head nurses have had to spend several sleepless nights every month to complete it.
이번 협력의 첫 단추인 '간호사 스케줄링 AI 에이전트'는 간호부의 가장 큰 행정 부담 중 하나인 근무표 작성 업무를 최적화하는 솔루션이다. 간호사 근무표는 숙련도별 인력 배치, 법적 휴게 시간 준수, 개인별 휴가 선호도 등 고려해야 할 변수가 방대하여 수간호사가 매월 수일 밤을 지새우며 작성해야 했다.

The two organizations are looking beyond nurse scheduling. Starting with this agreement, they plan to expand their collaboration toward a Hospital Decision OS that removes inefficiencies across hospital operations, including optimizing logistics routes within the hospital and optimizing the inventory of medicines and medical supplies.
양사의 시선은 간호사 스케줄링 너머를 향하고 있다. 이번 협약을 기점으로 병원 내 물류 이동 경로 최적화, 의약품 및 의료 소모품 재고 관리 최적화 등 병원 운영 전반의 비효율을 걷어내는 '병원 의사결정 운영체제' 구축으로 협력 범위를 확대할 계획이다.
